MCHE has recently released two new qualifications in Accounting at levels 4 and 5. These qualifications are available as 60-credit diplomas or 120-credit extended diplomas. They have been designed with a career in accounting in mind and have been developed alongside the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA).
Duration : Fast Track 6 Months
The qualifications will give learners the skills and understanding they need to work within small to medium sized enterprises. Learners completing the qualifications will gain awareness of accounting and tax regulation, as well as the ability to produce and interpret a full range of financial information.

Learners completing both the Level 4 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Level 5 Extended Diploma in Accounting who also have three years’ experience within the industry, will also have the exciting opportunity to gain Associate Membership with the IFA by completing two additional units, 301 Assurance and 302 Advanced Taxation.
The IFA is an internationally recognised professional accountancy membership body. Qualifications at RQF Level 6 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Bachelor’s Degrees, Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates.
The Level 6 Diploma in Accounting and Business consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centres only.
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by . The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
Successful completion of Level 6 Diploma in Accounting and Business qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions including progression to relevant Level 7 Diplomas. This qualification has been developed with career progression and professional recognition in mind. The Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification is designed to meet the needs of senior/middle managers and accountants in the running of their businesses, and to facilitate their progression to higher levels within their organisation. This level 7 programme includes contemporary topics with cuttingedge content, reflecting key issues within the 21st-century business environment as well as the latest developments in management research. The overall structure of the qualification is based on six units that cover a number of topics relating to learning outcomes. All six units are mandatory with the equivalency of 20 credits.

Learners will be expected to hold a Level 6 qualification or a first degree. In certain circumstances, managers with considerable experience but no formal qualifications may be considered.
This programme will broaden your specialist knowledge previously gained at a professional level 7. In particular the module, ‘Accounting & finance research project’ guides you to research into the key challenges accounting and finance professionals face in the industry. This module aims to equip accounting and finance professional with the necessary skills to undertake independent project work within a business context. The Research Methods element provides you with an introduction to research, types of research methodology, formulating and planning a research project, data collection, analysis and presentation of research findings based upon an actual industry specific or corporate focused topic.
Upon completing this Level 7 diploma, learners can join a university partner to complete a dissertation to then receive a full master’s degree. Learners can also step directly into employment in an associated profession or progress to the Qualifi Level 8 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
